I've been using the feathers & bird from this screen to make patches...

Little things

A gocco print I did last night...I think tonight's going to be spent printing a red version.

Old treasures

One of the things I love to collect is old abandoned photos, left behind at op shops, markets, on the ground...
These are some of my favourites:

I always wonder about their stories.

Patches

I've been hiding some things in my drawer...

...little patches made from gocco prints on fabric.

It was Mr Millicent Crow's birthday yesterday, so I bought him some shirts from the op shop and revamped them with the patches I had made. Now I might have to put birds all over my clothes too!

Ebenezer

Ebenezer's the next one in a series of gocco prints I'm working on at the moment. Once upon a time I did a painting of him too, but I think that might have got lost in the void where things end up when you move house...

Millicent

A new gocco print I made today; soon to be joined by a bunch of other ghostly folk. When I open my Felt shop, which is not tooo far away, I'll put some of these in it.

Safety Matches

This is a painting I did a while back - it's from a matchbox my friend brought back from Sweden. The swallow from this is going to be making an appearance in some gocco prints I'm working on...

These are some gocco prints I made as a cover for a limited edition Bond St Bridge EP. After I made them I happened to go on the radio (for the first, and perhaps only time) and got really stuck trying to explain what a gocco is. I think I settled for calling it a "magic screenprinting machine" or something like that. I guess it does seem kind of like magic.

Testing out the new scanner, yay!

Stalling

This is a stall I had at Craftwerk in, hmm...2008? It was at Te Tuhi in Pakuranga. I made screenprints of owls, chooks and old-fashioned women and made brooches out of old commemorative teaspoons. The gentlemen in the middle are amazing crocheted finger puppets made by Sam Duckor-Jones.

Finch screenprint

More old stuff...I made this fellow for a stall I had at the Craftwerk market in St Kevin's Arcade. He's a screenprint on calico.

Green with envy

It's ok to own 5 green cardigans...right? Right? At least St. Patrick's day is coming up.

Edited to add: I just realised I actually have 7.

Old ghosts

Ahoy there! Thought I'd start off with some old stuff - these paintings are from a solo show I had at the Small Dog Gallery in 2008...the show was called Ghost Towns. I am still pretty fond of drawing ghostly looking people, the sterner the better!
